Esta semana pensei que seria interessante falar num dos meus autores preferidos. Mas se começasse a falar de todos os livros que tenho de Stephen King seria um post demasiado longo para ler e escrever.
Então pensei que seria mais interessante escolher um género de livros que ele escreve - neste caso foram contos e novelas. Escolhi estes quatro livros porque queria ler um conto ou novela do qual já conhecia a adaptação cinematográfica. E é deles que vos falar hoje.
This week I though it would be nice to talk about one of my favourite authors. But if I started to talk about all of the books I own from the author it would be beyond overwhelming for everybody.
Then I thought to talk about some of his short stories books and why I wanted to read some of them. Most of them I picked because one short story or novella inside that I know from other medias like movies. These are 4 short stories or novellas that I haven't read, but have seen the movie.

Estações Diferentes » Os Condenados de Shawshank
O livro é Estações Diferentes, a novela em português chama-se "Os Condenados de Shawshank". A adaptação cinematográfica têm o mesmo nome e é de 1994. O actor Tim Robbins é Andy Dufresne é a personagem principal e o Morgan Freeman é Red. É um dos meus filmes preferidos, de sempre! Estou entusiasmada para ler e descobrir os detalhes da história escrita.
The books is Different Seasons, the novella is called "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption". The movie adaptation is only called Shawshank Redemption (1994) with Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne and Morgan Freeman as Red. It's one of my favourite movies ever! I'm looking forward to read it and explore the extra details that I'm sure the written story will have.

O livro é composto por quatro novelas. Uma delas é A Janela Indiscreta (nome da adaptação cinematográfica). O que me lembro é que é sobre um escritor, interpretado pelo actor Jonhy Depp. Como já li dois livros do Stephen King que são sobre escritores estou curiosa para ler esta novela ( os que li foi A História de Lisey e o Misery, ambos em português).
Four Past Midnight has four novellas - one them is "Secret Garden, Secret Window". All I remember about the little that I saw from the movie adaptation is that it's about a writer. I've read two books somehow related with writers by Stephen King and loved (Lisey's Story and Misery). I'm looking forward to it. The movie adaptation is called Secret Garden (2004) and the main character is played by Johnny Depp

Este livro é uma mistura de novelas e contos. O Nevoeiro (versão brasileira) ou Nevoeiro Misterioso (adaptação cinematográfica de 2007). É sobre um nevoeiro misterioso (talvez alien) que caí sobre a cidade. As personagens estão pressas no supermercado e algo de estranho se passa lá fora. Nunca vi o filme todo, e quando o vi não sabia que era baseado numa história do Stephen King. Estar preso num local e sem saber o que passa lá fora parece-me material dos meus pesadelos, mas apesar disso estou com imensa curiosidade de o ler.
Skeleton Crew has short stories and novellas. "The Mist" is a novella about a mysterious and maybe alien Mist that falls into a city. People are lock up and everything is creepy and mysterious outside. I've seen a part of the movie adaptation without knowing that it was based on Stephen King story. It sound eerie and weird, and the fact that people are stuck together in a supermarket, without knowing what's outside weird me out a lot. I'm looking forward to read it. The Mist (2007).

Este é o único livro que é de apenas contos. É também o único que tenho em português (e dos poucos livros que tenho do autor em português). Já o li todo, excepto este conto. Quando o estava a ler só me lembrava do filme e não estava a gostar da experiência de leitura por causa disso. A adaptação cinematográfica é 2007 com os actores John Cusack e o Samuel L. Jackson. É sobre um quarto de hotel onde estranhos acontecimentos se passam. A personagem de John Cusack costuma visitar locais paranormais (casas, hoteis, etc). Ele tanto insiste que finalmente consegue passar uma noite no famoso quarto 1408 do Hotel Dolphin. Mas o que acontece naquela noite vai mudá-lo para sempre.
Everything's Eventual gathers a few short stories. It's the only one that I have in portuguese and that I have read it all (in exception of this short story). 1408 or "Room 1408". I wasn't able to actually read the short story because I kept remembering the movie adaptation. The movie adaptation is called 1408 (2007) - John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson are in the main roles. It's about an hotel room where strange things happens. John Cusack character is specialized in debunking paranormal occurrences in houses and hotels. He insists a lot to get into the famous room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel. And he is able to actually do it, but what happen to him there will change him forever!
