Read in March

At the beginning of the forth month of the year I'm half way of finishing my goal of reading 60 books in a year. Found out the 10 books I've read in March!

1) Hellboy, Vol. 1: Seed of Destruction by Mike Mignola (graphic novel)
3) Hellboy, Vol. 2: Wake the Devil by Mike Mignola (graphic novel)
4) Hellboy, Vol. 4: The Right Hand of Doom by Mike Mignola (graphic novel)
5) Hellboy, Vol. 5: Conqueror Worm by Mike Mignola (graphic novel)

Hellboy is one of my favourite characters and Mike Mignola (it's creator) one of my favourite illustrators/comic artists. If you like stories based in old folklore, creepy stories, legends and things people used to believe in dark ages, then this comic might be for you. It's hard for me to describe Mike Mignola art, but love the light versus ink/dark works on his drawings. It's very hard to work and draw the way he does, but he does amazingly!

2) The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower 1) by Stephen King (audiobook)
6) The Little Sisters of Eluria (The Dark Tower 0.5) by Stephen King (short story)

I started a new series The Dark Tower by Stephen King.  The land that we walks in is a misture of bare waste land, wild west and something you could find in a scientific fiction book. It's post-apocalyptic book, that also plays with alternative realities. It's fantasy and western characteristics. The main character start to be inspired by Clint Eastwood cowboy roles. Rolan Deschain is the last Gunslinger in search for the man in black and The Dark Tower.

7) Interview With the Vampire (The Vampire Chronicles #1) by Anne Rice

Did you ever saw the movie and like... well the book it's better. Same story, same characters but more in depth.

8) From Hell by Alan Moore , Eddie Campbell (illustrator), Pete Mullins (illustrator) (graphic novel)

This comic besides being written by one of the best, is about Jack, the Ripper, the famous English murder and his still mysterious murders. In this books is present a theory about the motive and murders done by Jack. We are presented to different perspectives in the 500 pages - the murder, the detectives and the whores (among a couple more that I won't reveal who they are, so I won't spoil anything about it).
I LOVE IT. As much of Alan Moore work the text is rich and full of details. After reading I become really curios to check the Companion book - because it has extra texts and illustrations that were rejected in the final book.

9) 7th Heaven (Women's Murder Club #7) by James Patterson w/ Maxine Paetro

Outro livro do Women's Murder Club.

Another Women's Murder Club book. I was so relieved when I read this one and liked it. (the previous two I wasn't the biggest fan of). What keeps me coming back to this series is that these books are really fast to read, almost like I was watching an episode of a tv-show.

10) The Green Mile by Stephen King

Other book that has a movie adaptation (many of Stephen King's books have some kind of movie/tv adaptation - I'm particularly curious about a new one inspired in 11/22/63 that will be released next month in Portugal).
I already knew the story of The Green Mile through the movie adaptation. The characters and story where familiar to me, but still that didn't ruin the book for me. Actually it was the contrary. This book is one of my favourites from the author.
